Back to Malawi

And so it begins again...

The dates have been finalized. The flights have been booked. And my level of excitement... well, I would say it is increasing by the day!

I will be heading back to Malawi to participate in year 2 of 2 of the Canadian Cooperative Association Coaching Program on February 17th, 2009. I am VERY excited to be headed back to Malawi and am looking forward to visiting old friends, meeting/working with new friends, and NO WIND (for those of you living in Lethbridge or familiar with Lethbridge's climate, you know what I'm talking about...).

I have been communicating back and forth with my partner-in-crime (Paul!), as well as other friends I met last year (Bruce, Brad, Nicky and Dennis), over the past couple of weeks. It will be good to see them again.

I have spent my time since my last trip to Malawi doing a lot of reading and preparing for this trip. I have a much better idea of the adversity those living in developing nations face on a day-to-day basis. I also have a drastically different opinion on what the responsibility of those living in developed nations should be when donating time, money, resources, etc. to foreign-aid programs and initiatives. Lots to talk about in the coming months. Stay tuned!
